This week Kate over at Picklebums is launching a new linky – Real Life Wednesday. When she first mentioned this on her blog last week I was very excited by the idea. How fun, I thought, to share the real moments. A little window into the imperfections that make our life real (and unique and beautiful). I immediately started thinking about what I might share this week and honestly, I was spoilt for choice. It seems my life has an unending supply of baking fails, housework corner cutting time saving ideas and “please can we push the restart button” days.
Take my laundry “system” for instance. This is the view out of my bright sunny laundry window. There’s a beautiful pink flowering Camellia Tree out there somewhere. This is all clean laundry. I’m GREAT at washing. Very dilligent. I just have a small aversion to ironing.
Now, still in my laundry room, if you rotate 180 degrees, you will see this. This second pile of ironing is necessary because if I was to add even a single t-shirt to that first basket the entire mountain would tumble down upon my head. Personally I like this system. Sometimes I find things I’ve forgotten I even own – it’s like buying a new wardrobe without spending any money. Just last week Mark found a t-shirt in there and I heard him utter the words “Hello old friend!”
I can’t believe I actually watermarked photos of my ironing basket. Take that photo plagiarists!
Now, I could spend my days doing all of this ironing, but then I wouldn’t have time for this…..
or this…..
or this…..
Only a four year old could have this much fun winding up the clothes line. (At least someone around here enjoys doing the laundry!)
What does real life look like at your place? I’m linking this up with Real Life Wednesday, a new linky from Picklebums. Pop on over and see what others are sharing.
If this is your first time visiting One Perfect Day – welcome! If you like what you have found, please join us on our Facebook page. We are always sharing new ideas to play, learn, create and explore.
